Current Activities
Though once an active-duty Army Chaplain, I now spend most of my time homeschooling my daughter on a rural farm in Minnesota, where I live with my wonderful husband, Gerry. When I'm not cooking dinner or vacuuming up the hair of a German Shepherd in perma-shed, I write, teach, and preach in support of local congregations. I look forward to attending church on Sunday, especially when followed by a potluck or an impromptu lunch. I love walking beside those who seek Jesus Christ.

Vocational Background
- US Army Chaplain, serving in four different units before retiring to marry Air Force Colonel (retired) Gerald Ostern. December 2002 - July 2009.
- Chaplain to clients at Saint Elizabeth's Hospital, District of Columbia's Mental Health Services. As part of Clinical Pastoral Education, encouraged the spiritual well-being of patients who were struggling to regain mental health. May - August 2000.
- Taught ninth grade English and drama at Faith Christian Academy in Arvada, Colorado. Directed nine high school plays and two junior high one-acts. Also taught senior Bible and speech for two years. August 1994 - May 1998.
