The community came together to celebrate the birth of Christ! It was amazing to see people from all the churches in Floodwood attending this event at New Life Community Church! There was such a bond of unity and love as we gathered in the name of Jesus Christ! Children and adults alike sang songs and performed skits. In addition, I was blessed to do my first reading from my new Advent book! And Pastor Matt finished up with a wonderful admonition, calling us all to offer our lives to Christ!
Together we went through the biblical account of the first Christmas and discussed the significance of Advent as retold in Of Wing and Worship: The Extraordinary Advent of Jesus Christ. We lit Advent candles and shared themed candy as we worked through the chapters on 12/1, 12/8, 12/15, 12/22, wrapping everything up on 12/29. It was a wonderful time of fellowship and spiritual growth!
Enjoyed the festive atmosphere of Floodwood's annual Shopping Night Out at the Rich Event Center (201 7th Avenue W., Floodwood, MN). Signing and selling books in my own community was a blast! I also had fun perusing the crafts and wares of our very talented local vendors.
Held the Reposting Raffle advertised on Facebook! Ruth Autio and Amy Degeorge each won a basket with a free book and the themed candy matching the chapters in Of Wing and Worship: The Extraordinary Advent of Jesus Christ! Ruth Reedy and Heather Maki each won a set of Advent candles!
Spent the day selling and signing books at Inspirations Bookstore (1200 S Pokegama Avenue,
Suite 150, Grand Rapids, MN 55744). Thanks to Loren for running a great Christian bookstore like Inspirations! They have a wide variety of material and resources!
I returned to Hope Lutheran, where I sometimes preach for Pastor John Burgess. On this visit, however, I introduced my new book to the congregation and then participated as Pastor John led worship. After the service, I sold and signed books in the fellowship hall. What a blessing it was to be with the lovely people who make this church feel like a second home! Thanks, Hope Lutheran!!!
Visited Hermantown Community Church on Saturday, to sell and sign books in their yearly craft sale. I had fun reconnecting with dear friends. Thanks to HCC, Julie Fermenich, and Audrey Light for hosting this event. Crafts were sold, a lot of homemade bread was eaten, and I left the building wearing a handmade scarf and Christmas tree earrings!
I was privileged to attend Four Rivers Fellowship in Floodwood, MN, where I gave my personal testimony and spoke briefly about my new book, Of Wing and Worship. Special thanks for the kindness demonstrated by Pastor Dave Rhode and his congregation, who welcomed me with open arms.
